More and more studies have found that prayer improves cardiac health. A 2019 article linked below from Psychology Today reported “prayer can have a positive impact on recovery from mental illness and also on the well-being of people without mental illness”. https://www.psychologytoday.com/…/prayer-and-mental…
🌟Even the secular are forced to admit what believers already know…that prayer is powerful in the healing of mental and physical problems; however, the most important benefit of prayer is receiving spiritual healing and renewal through the forgiveness of sin and a personal relationship with God.
➜Have you ever felt emotional or physical distress from the sins that you committed against God and others?
➜Have you ever struggled with holding on to guilt even after God has forgiven you?
If you’re human, then you most likely answered YES to the questions above and being bound to sin and guilt negatively impacts wellness on every level. The good news is that when we sincerely confess and ask God for forgiveness, He is faithful and just to forgive. As the scripture and song go, “His mercies are new every morning”. Praise God! 🙌🏼The next challenge is often SELF-forgiveness!
WHAT WE KNOW:
🙏🏻Prayer edifies our relationship with God.
🙏🏻Prayer cleanses us and gives us a renewed heart, mind and spirit.
🙏🏻Prayer is literally good for our mind, body and soul.
📖Make it a point to incorporate Psalm 51:10 into your prayer life. Meditate on God’s word to experience the supernatural renewal only He can give. Our flesh is weak (Matt 26:41), our thoughts need to be held captive (2 Cor. 10:5) and our hearts are deceitful (Jer 17:9), but with God’s help, we can overcome.
